For over 20 years, this family-run business has been dishing out delicious bowls of Hakka-style yong tau food to the hungry CBD crowd.

All the ingredients are neatly displayed in a case at the front of the stall and customers are supposed to use the provided tongs to pick and choose the ingredients they want to add.

Upon ordering, you can decide if you want your yong tau foo to be prepared dry or with soup.

Despite being located in such a busy area, prices are kept affordable and a bowl of 5 pieces of yong tau foo with noodles costs $3.80, while subsequent pieces cost 60 cents.

Apart from noodles, you can also opt to enjoy your yong tau foo ingredients with chee cheong fun.

Yong tau foo is one of my favourite lunchtime choices because it is so affordable yet filling and healthy.

When I arrived on a weekday afternoon, most of the ingredients were sold out already but thankfully, there were some left for me to choose from. As I waited for the uncle to prepare my food, I even managed to have a chat with him about his business! Very nice old man.

While I usually opt for soup yong tau foo, I decided to try something different and got the dry rendition instead. This features the ingredients and noodles doused in a thick and sweet gravy. The soup is also provided in a small bowl by the side.

The ingredients were all very fresh and delicious and I especially enjoyed the beancurd ones! The sauce was also very good and not too sweet for my liking.
