545 Whampoa Prawn Noodles is now manned by 3rd generation hawker; named Ruifang, who is carrying on her grandfather's heirloom. The stall started humbly back in the 1950's when Ruifang's grandfather sold prawn mee from a pushcart. To this day, the family business has maintained their original outlet as well located at Whampoa market.

This was my favourite eat of the day! It was simply delicious. Ordered was the $4 dry prawn mee noodles; which came in 2 options - soup or dry. I recommend ordering the dry version as it is more tasty since the sauce clings to the noodles more. It came with split peeled prawns, boiled pork slices, bean sprouts, fried shallots for topping, a side of sambal and dark prawn broth - All was very tasty! The prawns were my favourite, along with the chewy bite of the noodles, as well as the dark prawn broth (which tasted heavily of sweet prawns) The whole dish would just leave you craving more! Be prepared to queue as a line is common, although it will be worth it as the portions are large. Recommended!
