I personally find this stall severely underrated as when it comes to lor mee, most people think of names like 178 Lor Mee and Tiong Bahru Lor Mee. They only sell two dishes which are, like their name clearly states — lor mee and prawn mee. The stall is run by a husband-and-wife duo who inherited the business from one of their aunts, making it a family-run business. It’s hidden in the middle of the food centre and is quite easy to walk past it so do keep your eyes peeled out for it!

I came during lunch time and thankfully, the queue here wasn’t as long as the other stalls in the market. I was contemplating hard between the lor mee and the prawn noodles but I finally decided on the lor mee. I’m so glad that I got it because it’s probably one of my favourite bowls of lor mee in Singapore to date. What I don’t really like about most lor mees is how the gravy and noodles have an overly starchy flavour that can get a tad bit too overwhelming. There is no such taste in the lor mee here and at the same time, the gravy has a very rich flavour as well as a nice, viscous texture. The portion size was also surprisingly very generous and each bowl comes laden with plenty of ingredients like pork belly, egg and fishcake. I also like how they included a dollop of minced garlic for a nice pungent kick.
