Located at Bedok 216, Chris Kway Chap is a very popular stall selling probably one of the best Kway Chap in Singapore. Opened only 4 days a week and limited opening hours, this stall is always packed with people and often sporting a long queue no matter the time of the day. It’s no wonder they are usually sold out right after lunch time, about 2pm.

With 3 people mending the stall, there are rather fast in churning out the orders one after another. While I wouldn’t recommend you to be picky about the ingredients you’d like, there are options to add your favourite ingredients such as pork belly or braised egg, and even tau pok. There is a ‘set menu’ where the chef will decide on the selected 5 items, and most people go for that.

It’s not the ‘prettiest’ dish to feed your socials, but this bowl of hearty goodness beats your virtual likes.

When it comes to Kway Chap, the most important factor people look out for is how ‘clean’ the innards, and how ‘fragrant’ the braised items are. Chris Kway Chap hits all the right notes with this. I personally love innards and this stall manages to season the ingredients so well, with the right amount of saltiness in it.

Portion wise, it is a little below average, considering the price you are paying and the long waiting time you spent. I did wish it was a little more and perhaps more variety than the usual 5 items, but I guess I can’t be choosy all the time. The kway (rice noodle sheets) are thin and silky, a smooth texture that I could order an additional bowl.
