At Good Luck Chicken Wings and Satay, the chicken wings are skewered and cooked in front of you and the satay is also flipped before your eyes. They’ve been at the famous Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre for a few years and they also have another outlet at Blk 2210 Toa Payoh Lorong 8. As they open till 12.30 am in the morning, they make a perfect supper spot for peckish night owls! Additionally, the stall is also Chinese-owned so they sell pork satay which you cannot get at Muslim satay stalls.
I got myself a plate of their satay and got a mix of chicken, pork and mutton satays, which amounted to $7 in total. The satay was grilled fresh on the spot and had a beautiful caramelisation. I particularly liked the lamb satay which was not too overly gamey and the meat was fresh. The pork satay was very good too and not overcooked. It also had a good fat to meat ratio which helped the meat remain tender. Chicken satay used good cuts of chicken meat that were fattier so it still retained its moisture even after barbecuing. Dip all of this in the nutty peanut sauce for more flavour!
