Don’t be fooled by the stall’s name - Chicken Head. It serves a decent plate of Chicken Rice - whether roasted for steamed - in small metal plates to boot. Serving the usual selections of Hainanese chicken rice, this stall is quite underrated for the food definitely deserves more attention. Be there a little earlier for the queue tends to stretch quite a bit
during the peak hours.

The stall owners wake up early each morning to prepare the chicken and the rice for the day. They are rather friendly with customers, but when it gets a little busy, they may not be as chatty as one would hope - but definitely made up for the quality of the food at a reasonable price.

Signature

Chicken Wings Rice

While it doesn’t stand out as ‘the best’ chicken rice in Singapore, it is a rather decent and delicious meal, whether for lunch or dinner. I liked the chicken, which is tender and chewy to the bite. The sauce - made up of sesame oil and light soya sauce gave a nice touch to it. Of course, the rice is grainy and full of chicken flavour - without being too overpowering with its usage of chicken stock. No chicken rice is complete without the chilli and soup. Chilli was of course, the garlic chilli, spicy, fragrant and a little sweet as well. The soup was a tad salty, but I thought it complemented the rice and chicken really well.

Chicken Rice can be a comfort food for some and this will serve as a decent plate to satisfy your chicken rice cravings.
