Soya beancurd became one of the trendier desserts in Singapore a few years back and some of us would have one bowl of it every day. They are multiple popular soya beancurd stalls in Singapore byt 51 Soya Bean is one of the more popular ones. The stall is operated by curry puff Makansutra Street Food Master Chang Li Wong who also competitively set up his stall next to Lao Ban, another popular soya beancurd shop. Everything is made on-site and what makes 51 Soya Bean’s beancurd special is that it has a milkier malted coffee-mate taste with a grainier texture. They also offer a number of interesting flavours like milo, Bandung and almond.

I got myself a container of their original beancurd which costs just $1.60. Soya Beancurd tastes especially amazing and refreshing on a sweltering hot day, so it’s perfect for Singapore’s weather! The beancurd here was pretty smooth and had a distinct milky soya bean taste which I really enjoyed. I was also intrigued by their other flavour options such as bandung and milo — you don’t see these other flavours very often at other beancurd stalls! Apart from soya beancurd, they also sell drinks like soya bean drink which is made from the very same soya beans as the beancurd.
