Located at Chinatown Complex Food Centre, this Michelin Recommended Kopi and Kaya Toast stall deserves a mention. There are many coffee stalls in the area and in the food centre, but to stand out among the rest is no easy feat. The 1950s Coffee shop not only serves your traditional coffee and tea, they have a selection of toasts and egg, just like the quintessential Singaporean breakfast.

Toasts include Traditional Toast ($1.20), Peanut Thick Toast ($1.20), Kaya Thick Toast ($1.20), and coffee options start from Black Coffee ($1.00), Half-Boiled Egg ($1.20), Iced Lemon Tea ($1.10), and Milo Ice ($1.80).

The queue for this stall is quite long, so be prepared to queue for at least 10-15minutes. If you are looking to get your toasts, then you would need to spare another 5-10 minutes as it is made to order. However, the wait will be worth it.

Waiting for your morning coffee can be tough, especially if you travelled far enough to get a taste of the first sip of your coffee. The wait while queuing up was a challenging, but definitely worth the wait.

Like most of the traditional coffees, it came in the small coffee cup, with the stallowners making the coffee powder at the back, making sure the richness of the coffee remains even after brewing a number of cups for its customers.

I ordered Kopi C and it was such a great cup of coffee any coffee lover can ask for. By just its scent, you can smell the familiar coffee aroma, with the thick and rich taste of the coffee. Smooth to the taste and sweet enough to perk up your morning. Nothing beats a good old coffee and this stall remains one of the best there is.
