Highly popular Mala Hot Pot stall! Located at People's Park Food Centre in Chinatown.
Mala Hot Pot is a soup-less dish, leaning more towards a stir-fry dish of ingredients of your choice, ranging from meat, vegetables, mushrooms, etc.
Order effortlessly by simply pointing to your desired ingredients lined up in the showcase. Choose between noodles or rice. If you choose noodles, they will fry it with your desired ingredients whilst adding the Mala seasoning.
Do tell them your desired level of spiciness; 赫辣 he-la (extremely spicy), 大辣 da-la (very spicy), 中辣 zhong-la (medium), 小辣 xiao-la (less spicy), or 无辣 wu-la (non-spicy). Comes with whole peanuts as toppings. Served in a big bowl. Extremely filling and satisfying.

Mala Xiang Guo

Feel free to choose your ingredients, but this time I chose pork, chicken, broccoli, lotus root, lady's finger, bok choy, enoki mushroom, black fungus, tau kee (tofu skin) and noodles. Tasted amazing! They will take the ingredients for you. They tend to pinch generous servings that I couldn't finish eating, so I told them to take lesser.
I ordered xiao-la (less spicy)! The dry noodles were coated with the mala seasoning, and the intriguing blend of umami flavour with the slight kick of spiciness got me hooked!! Certainly got me craving for more Mala hot pot in the future ♪
