The stall’s name was coined by combining the patriarch’s Chinese name which translate to food business. It has been around for over 60 years since 1961 and the founder, Mr Seah Boon Lock, started the business as a small duck rice food stall in the Sembawang kampong area. In 2002, they relocated to Woodlands Terrace and in 2017, they branched out even further to set up a food court at the University of Social Sciences. Now, they have multiple food courts and duck rice stalls across Singapore so everyone can enjoy their food!
I ordered myself the speciality duck rice which comes with tender duck slices, pickled vegetables, a tea egg and tofu atop a generous bed of flavoured rice. Each plate or rice also comes with a bowl of their homemade soup and you can choose which sauces you want to accompany the dish. They say that the secret to their flavourful duck lies in their traditional braised sauce recipe and I can really taste that — it had a distinct herbal taste that added a layer of depth to the dish and paired well with the duck meat which was very juicy. Also really like the soup, super flavour-packed! Portion size is also generous so I was very full and satisfied after.
