Blue pea nasi lemak is a thing in Singapore but very few places actually sell it. Wan Xing Nasi Lemak is one of the few places that do, and at a very affordable price as well!

Here, there are nine different nasi lemak sets available such as rendang chicken, healthier choice nasi lemak and even kids set. Price range is between $3 to $5. Apart from nasi lemak, they also sell cai fan (mixed rice) style dishes which you can either DIY to form your own meal or add on to your nasi lemak. There are also noodle options like bee hoon and fried kway teow for people who aren’t feeling rice.

Set 6, Set 7, Set 8

Most places jack up the prices of pea blue nasi lemak simply because of its unique colour, so I was glad to find that Wan Xing Nasi Lemak chose to keep its prices affordable to cater to the general masses.

Unfortunately, by the time I arrived at the stall on a Sunday afternoon, the otah was all sold out so I couldn’t opt for some of the sets on the menu. Hence, I settled for Set 6 ($3) which comes with fried chicken, spam, ikan bilis, and sambal. I realised soon after that I also wanted an egg, so I topped up 80 cents to get one.

The food here admittedly isn’t the most mind-blowing, but it’s simple and good enough to satisfy any nasi lemak itch. For the price point, it’s worth it and I would come back.
