Li Fang Porridge was founded in 2008 at ABC Market by a man called Sky Tan. Its business shot to fame when it was scouted for a popular cooking show on television. Ever since then, the store has become so popular that they have expanded to have nine outlets islandwide. It was also recommended in the Michelin Guide as a spot in Singapore to get wholesome and authentic bowls of porridge. They have around 17 different types of porridge at their outlet at Albert Centre Food Centre so there are plenty of options to choose from.

I came on a rainy, cold day as I was feeling something warm to tide me over. I was admittedly spoilt for choice as they have a very wide range of options but I ended up opting for the century egg pork porridge. I really love how each bowl of porridge comes with you tiao, also known as fried dough fritter. The porridge was thick and very flavourful so you can tell that the broth has been boiled for a very long time. Pork slices were also very tender and juicy which was a nice surprise as I’m used to pork in porridge being quite dry and overcooked. Dunk the crispy you tiao in the porridge for maximum satisfaction.
