Opened in 1955, Shi Xiang Satay has received many awards, including Singapore's Best Foods 2017. Located in Chinatown Complex.
Satay here is made from scratch; from marinating to grilling.
Choose from three types of Satay; Pork, Chicken and Mutton, must order a total of at least 10 sticks, and minimum 5 sticks of each type os Satay.
The Pork Satay has chunks of fat in the middle of the skewer.
The Peanut Sauce has hints of pineapple, which blends with the chilli and spices to give a subtle sweet flavour.
Do order the Ketupat, which are rice cakes wrapped in coconut leaves!

For dinner, I had the all three types of Satay and Ketupat ♪
To order, tell the tao-kay (shop owner) your table number and they will bring your food to your table.
Came with chunks of cucumber and onions on the side.
You've got to enjoy the tender, sweet meat of the Satay alone first, without the sauce! The chunks of pork fat enhanced the flavour of the Satay. The Peanut Sauce captured the sweetness of the pineapple, without losing its nutty flavour. Reserve 10 sticks of Satay per person as few pieces of thick, tender meat are on each stick.
Add the peanut sauce to the rice cakes (ketupat)!
Order Craft Beer from the nearby stall to go with the Satay, you'll not regret it :)
