The three-decade-old stall is rarely open but when it is, it attracts extremely long queues.

They are famous for their char siew noodles, which they call “Bu Jian Tian” Char Siew Wanton Noodles, which translates to "roast pork that doesn't see the sky".

But why the name? This is because the meat is taken from the armpit of the pig, which does not see sunlight very often.

While it sounds unappetising, it is considered one of the more tender cuts of meat from a pig. It is also pretty hard as that area is very small.

Apart from char siew, the stall also sells wantons and wanton noodles.

I live at Tiong Bahru and let me tell you — this stall is hardly ever open! So when I finally saw that it was, I had to drop all my lunch plans and just queue here!

I was considerably early but even so, many things were sold out, including their famous armpit cut! Thankfully, I was still able to get a plate of char siew wanton mee.

While I was unable to try that premium cut of meat, I was still impressed by the wanton mee. The char siew here was good and it paired well with the springy egg noodles. The sauce that everything was tossed in was fantastic too!
