Feng Zhen Lor Mee went from a humble business in Taman Jurong Food Centre to a chain with four stalls across Singapore. In fact, they just opened their Ang Mo Kio branch in August 2022!

The decades-old business was awarded a Michelin Plate in the Michelin guide too, a testement to their delicious bowls of lor mee.

Here, they sell your usual basic bowls of lor mee but you can also opt fish lor mee which features chunks of deep fried fish.

And apart from lor mee, they even sell prawn mee, laksa and fishball mee for more variety!

Signature

Fish Lor Mee

I'm very picky with my lor mee because it isn't a dish that I particularly like, so I was curious to see if the ones here lived up to their name.

I visited the stall on a Sataurday afternoon and there was no queue. They were out of fish lor mee so I ended up getting the basic lor mee. This came loaded with ingridients like pork belly, fishcake and egg.

The gravy had a nice garlicky taste that wasn't overwhelming and while starchy, it did not feel too cloying.

The portion size was also decent and I felt full after polishing off the whole bowl. I like it enough to eat it again and maybe next time, I will try the fish version!
