This humble hawker store that specialises in fried traditional bakes was founded in 1968 and was previously located below a HDB before eventually moving to its current location in2003. The stall is currently run by the store owner's daughter, a third-generation owner. She decided to take over as she felt the pressing need to preserve her grandfather's legacy. The pastries here are fried fresh on the spot daily and while the you tiao is evidently one of the more popular menu items, other favourites include banana buns, butterfly buns and green bean buns.

When here, it is a must to get their you tiao, which is what I did. I was also curious to see how their banana bun would be like so I got one too. When I reached the store, they were mostly sold out for the day and were about to close — thank goodness I managed to get the last banana bun on display! This was packed with mash banana filling and the contrast of texture between the soft banana and the crisp bread was interesting. I also really enjoyed the you tiao which was absolutely massive! I think it would go fantastically well with porridge.
