Having operated for many years, B for Beancurd isn’t just your traditional dessert-snack, but rather a fan-favourite food with a variety of flavours including almond, yam, mango and strawberry. Made freshly on site daily, the stall also sells agar-agar, herbal tea and of course, soy bean milk for dine-ins and takeaways.

The smooth and silky beancurd pudding is mostly served chilled, and became quite a stir in Singapore a few years ago when people were all about finding the next best soy beancurd pudding. If you are going for the traditional warm beancurd, then this isn’t what you will be getting, but if you here for a chilled dessert or tea-time snack, then you won’t be disappointed by it.

I initially wanted to order the yam beancurd for a change, but was told they didn’t sell it, so I opted for an original beancurd instead. I have had my fair share of chilled beancurd puddings during the crazy period where it became a trend, but I have never became a huge fan of one.

The beancurd was smooth and ‘jiggly’ at first look, looking something like tofu fresh from the fridge. The soft-looking snack tasted good - rich but doesn’t have a ‘bean’ taste. I would say the taste was quite mild, but still had a subtle sweetness that I enjoyed. Very quickly, I found myself scooping up and devouring the beancurd and finished it within minutes. I’ll definitely be back for the more adventurous flavours.
