The business was started in 1986 by a man and in 1988, his sister and her husband joined them. In the day, the sister and her husband operated as a fish ball noodle store and come night, her brother takes over with his fishhead steamboat business. In 2018, the lady’s husband passed away, so now she takes charge of the store, with her daughter helping out when she’s free. They occupy two stalls side by side and you can easily recognise them by their massive signboard which is aligned with bright lights.

I came in the afternoon when the noodle stall was in operation and ordered the fishball noodles, which cost $3 for a small bowl and $4 for a big bowl. They are very generous with the portion size and each bowl comes with springy noodles and bouncy fishballs that come toss in a fiery, pungent chilli. The noodles were al dente with a good bite and the chilli sauce really packs quite a punch, so if you love spicy food, this would be right up your alley. I also really loved the fishballs which feel handmade and these were very juicy. These were served in a separate bowl of soup which was savoury. If your noodles feel too dry, you can always wet them with the soup. Very value-for-money!
