Owned by Ms Mary Quek, who is a young lady in her 30s, Ah Hui Big Prawn Noodles is one of the more popular prawn noodle brands in the Singapore hawker scene, and for a good reason too.

Before moving to its current location at Balestier Market, the stall was located at Longhouse at Upper Thomson. Mary says that she does prefer this new location because of the bigger carpark and cheaper rental. Ever since the move, she has managed to expand their menu as well. Apart from regular prawn mee, she also has pork rib noodle and a more premium type of prawn noodle — Big Prawn Noodle.

I adore prawn noodles so you bet I was excited to try one from such a famous stall! Everything was prepared fresh on the spot.

I ordered the Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle which came with huge prawns and juicy chunks of pork ribs. What I like about the prawns here is that they slice it down the middle making it easier to peel open. I The ribs were also very juicy and had just the right amount of fat, allowing it to fall off the bone. I also loved the noodles which were tossed ina spicy chilli sauce with the right amount of kick.

Apart from the prawn noodles, I also got myself a plate of prawn pancakes. These were divine and i'll definitely be thinking about them for a long time!
