There are a few Nana Thai outlets in Singapore and the one near town – at Far East Plaza is a great eatery if you are seeking for some good authentic Thai food amongst the expensive restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. It gets crowded during dinner time, so be sure to go there slightly earlier if you wouldn’t want to wait long for your meal.

The area is large enough for about 10-15 tables, and it gets filled rather quickly with big groups strolling in. Waiting time for food is comparably shorter than you’d expect, which is great for those hungry souls. When it comes to portion size, I’d say most of the food is for 1 person, even the sharing dishes like salad, meat and vegetables.

I wished I could call this a hidden gem, but since it is quite a known place, I’d say, for all those foodies, this is something to look out for.

While their menu isn’t the greatest in terms of visually-appealing images, their food speaks for itself.

I was unaware of this place before visiting this eatery on a weekday evening. Initially, I thought it was a dwindling place for I was the only customer in the restaurant. However, in about half and hours’ time, the crowds started to stroll in and in no time, there was a long queue forming outside the area.

I ordered a few dishes – from the Dry Beef Kway Teow, to the Tom Yum Soup, vegetables and my favourite Thai Iced Tea.

The Kway Teow was a tad oily, but had that charred taste that had a nice aftertaste in each bite. It kway teow was chewy and thick beef slices gave a nice additional taste to it. For the Tom Yum soup, I’d say it was a ‘7’ in its spicy ranking – enough to please the moderate spice lovers. Lots of seafood in the soup to share with your friends as well.

For the affordable price in a town area, I’d say this place is quite the catch.
