Winning a Michelin Guide in 2019, Ka Soh's signature dishes include their snakehead fish soup and crispy fried prawn paste chicken.
The snakehead fish soup was milky white and gingery, with an abundance of soft white fish meat and crunchy fresh veggies, for a small portion recommended for 1 person - it was clearly large enough for 2, and makes a soothing lunchtime soup. The fried chicken coated with prawn paste was perfectly fried to a deep golden brown, and retained its hotness for a while, unlike the soup. The meat of the chicken was very generous, large, and moist, with a particular slight taste of prawn. My favourite had to be the San Lau hor fun noodles; which was a mix of soft flat noodles, crunchy bean sprouts and again soft white fish meat. By its bland appearance, you would not guess how much taste this dish packs. The noodles were coated in a light sauce, which made it decadent and the perfect balance of oiliness and fat. Recommended for a classic Cantonese meal, with generous portions and delicious taste at a friendly price.
