When it comes to finding the best Sliced Fish Soup in Singapore, Blanco Court’s name is kind of a shoo-in for many - a household name that has resonated deeply with the locals. Now that Blanco Court Food Centre is demolished, the famous stall has relocated to Maxwell Road, in the heart of the CBD area. The stall at Tanjong Pagar Xchange (within the same compound of Tanjong Pagar MRT station) gets really crowded during the lunch hour, and sometimes even after the peak periods.

There are choices of ingredients to go with your fish soup - whether is it fried fish, seafood or sliced fish - we’d recommend having your meal there instead of ordering a takeaway. For the daring ones, try the Tom Yum soup base for a change.

Signature

Fried Fish Meat Bee Hoon Soup, Fried Fish Meat Soup

Coming in with expectations, I’d say the fish soup doesn’t disappoint. I ordered the fried fish soup and was excited when it came with a large serving of the fried egg floss. The fried fish slices were thick and juicy. While some of it had quite a thick batter, it didn’t overwhelm the overall taste nor made it soggy after soaking them in the soup.

The soup was what made the dish so special. Flavourful and sweet, a tasty bowl that warms the soul especially during a rainy and cold day.
