Getting to Nassim Hill via a public transport may not be the best route - having to walk quite a distance from the Orchard station. However, being in a quiet area has its benefits - not a crowded place, and a great restaurant to dine and chill out after work. The rather open kitchen/bar and make it for a nice peek at what the chefs and barista does to your food and drinks.

Service at Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar is rather top-notch. Perhaps it leans towards more of a restaurant than a cafe, so the waiters and waitresses there are not only polite and on-the-ball, they are very eloquent in recommending menu dishes, as well as chatting with customers.

The menu offered is very extensive - from starts, bread selections and main dishes, along with drinks - such as coffee and tea, juices and alcoholic beverages. If you would like to try more of their dishes, they have small portions to choose from as well. This way, more choices without breaking the bank and more tummy space for more stuff.

Signature

Brioche Donuts, Brioche French Toast, Buttermilk Scone, Canele, Hot Reuben

I went for dinner at Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar, and was a little taken aback at how empty it was, despite the supposedly peak dinner hours. Perhaps it was because of the COVID situation and most people are avoiding dining out during this time. But fret not, businesses was still relatively good and I’d seen food delivery riders popping in and out often to collect their orders.

Greeted by the lovely staff there, I was spoilt for choice when it came to menu offerings. To be honest, I am a little regretful for not ordering their bread options as it didn’t feel right for a dinner set up. The bread is freshly baked everyday in-store and I will definitely be back the next time for their fresh bread.

I ordered the Calamari sides that served with garlic, chilli pad and curry leaves, and the Cheese Crust Grilled Steak Sandwich. Firstly, portion-wise for the mains are very generous. I was more than full after eating half of the sandwich. The sliced beef ribeye in the middle was tender and juicy, marinated well with the gherkin dijon sauce. The cheese crust isn’t as salty as I thought it would be, but the bread was a little on the hard-tough side. Took a few more bites than usual to munch it.

It was overall an enjoyable experience, and food-wise, I really loved the food. Will be back to try the other dishes the next time.
