Founded by baker Gontran Cherrier and owned by the Spa Esprit Group, Tiong Bahru Bakery is an artisan bakery & cafe that serves coffee and a wide variety of freshly baked premium quality pastries.
I'm a personal fan of Tiong Bahru Bakery. It is my go-to for a weekend brunch and a chance to get my hands on their Pain Au Chocolat ($4), their classic Croissant ($3.50), and my beloved Salmon & Spinach Quiche ($10.50). I must say their quiche is like no other - the crumb of their quiche is buttery and melt-in-your-mouth, which compliments the smooth texture of the egg base and salmon! It's the best you'll find around town. On this visit, I ordered the lovely Pain Au Chocolat - which is the perfect ratio of flaky & doughy, and thick chocolate goodness in every bite. The Croissant is claimed "the best in town", and I can vouch for that statement, flaky yet buttery throughout. Recommended!
