Located along the side road of Waterloo Street, it isn’t an obvious shopfront, but there is constantly a string of walk-ins, especially during the peak meal times. The cosy social enterprise not only give part of their profits to charity, they hire staff of the disadvantage so as to provide more paths in society for them.

It isn’t a huge cafe to start with, but it can house about slightly less than 25 people at one go. Mainly serving Western food, there are a couple of dishes served with a local twist such as the Chilli Crab Pasta and Cendol Panna Cotta. Service is good, and an overall cosy place to chill out and dine with friends over a good meal. Whether you are there for a daily cuppa or getting your burger fix, Crossings Cafe should be in your list of cafes to explore.

Signature

Chili Crab Spaghetti, Crisp Green & Honey Tangerine Salad, Crossings Laksa, Franciscan Burger, Fried Chicken Wings (5pcs), Garlic Bread (5pcs), Pan-fried Ribeye Steak, Prawn & Vongolo Aglio Olio Spaghetti, The Good Shepherd's Pie, Thin-crust mayo-Teriyaki Muishroom Pizza (6")

I ordered the Prawn and Vongole Aglio Olio Spaghetti, one of their recommended dishes in the rather extensive menu. I also got myself a cup of Iced coffee and a Tiramisu dessert at the end.

I didn’t have to wait long - about 15 minutes or less for my main dish to be served. I enjoyed the serving of the pasta, and the generous number of prawns and clams. It was actually rather spicy with the red chilli in it, but wasn’t too torturous as well. I felt that overall, the pasta dish had a good balance of spice and taste. It wasn’t salty nor too spicy that an average person can take.

The tiramisu dessert was a little underwhelming. I thought the cake itself tasted not too bad - with a hint of alcohol (as with most tiramisu) and a light sponge fingers/cake sandwiched in the middle. I felt there could be more chocolate and cocoa powder than the layers of cream.

However, I will be back to try their other dishes and for the cosy environment.
