First opened at Seah Im Food Centre and now a standalone restaurant, Eat 3 Bowls, directly translated to ‘Jiak Sa Wa” in Hokkien, or Taiwanese Minnan language is famous for their authentic Taiwanese fare - from the Braised Pork Rice to Mee Sua, and of course, bubble tea!

The classroom concept comes as a delight to many, but because of the small area, it is likely you would have to be ready to queue for a seat, especially during peak hours. The menu is rather straightforward with the usual suspects. However, if you are eating with a partner, do consider the Three Bowls with drink set, which consists of 3 different main options with a choice of a drink. If not, a bowl of mee sea is also a good non-rice option for those looking to cut down on their carbs.

Beef Noodle Set, Bubble Tea Latte, Eat 3 Bowls, Eat 3 Bowls (w/Drinks)

I ordered the intestine mee sua which was more than sufficient for 1 person. I had to wait about 30 minutes for my turn, but as I inched towards the entrance of the cafe, a snaking line was formed. However, the food was served very quickly after ordering at the counter - probably had already pre-cooked it to speed up the process.

The sourness from the vinegar wasn’t too overpowering, but had just the right taste to it as well. Served with innards and oysters, I’d say it was a rather generous serving despite the affordable price point. I enjoyed the dish and will be back to try the rice options next.
