Wanton Seng’s Noodle Bar offers a unique dining experience, where you can enjoy this nostalgic local dish at a bar counter! Char Siu, Roast Pork Belly, Wanton Mee, etc. are beautifully presented, an attractive option for younger customers. Creative spins to local dishes, from frying slices of duck meat, to sprinkling pork floss over noodles. A classic bar with a great drink menu. Popular amongst not just the locals, but also businessmen working in the Tanjong Pagar area for its carefully-crafted menu that stays true to its roots! Enter Amoy Street from the Amoy Street Food Centre and it will be located on your right.

Since reservations are not allowed during peak lunch hours, I reached the store at 12.30pm to see many businessmen enjoying lunch with their friends. 15 minutes waiting time as there are only 4 seats at the bar counter. Good rotation, worth the wait!
I ordered both weekday-lunch set menus, the Char Siu Classic Set and the Duck Signature Set. (Tbh they are not that different! XD Choose which set you'd like based on the toppings!) I think the $10++ price for each set menu is justified due to the sheer volume of toppings and quality. Slightly bigger slices of duck and char siu than I had expected. Runny egg yolk inside both boiled and fried Wantons!
As I chewed the fried Wantons, I was confused by the grating sound between my teeth... Turns out they mix fried fish bones into the Wanton filling!
Also, the crispy layer did not stick to the duck, and the taste was almost identical to fried chicken! Even my friends have never heard of Duck Wanton Mee!
Plain noodle taste, without any distinct Chinese spices, which explains why it suits westerners' tastebuds! Feel free to use the soya sauce, chilli and pepper containers left on the table counter! Highly recommend mixing the dark soy sauce and chilli with your noodles!!
Be prepared to pay via credit card or online payment such as GrabPay as they don't accept cash payments!
