This food centre was originally built in 1975 to house shifting hawkers from Jalan Sultan street market. Today, army paraphernalia and camping gear including mess tins, boots, socks and towels can be purchased at the “Army Market” on the third floor to accomodate national servicemen. The market became growingly popular and fashionable as new generation stall owners selling street and vintage fashion goods started setting up camp, bringing in a new hip vibe into the market. The centre undertook a renovation in 2012.
