Breakfast

Kaya Toast
Kaya toast is a popular local breakfast and snack loved by Singaporeans, and consists of toasted bread (with the sides cut off) that is generously spread with a slather of butter and kaya (a jam made from eggs, sugar, coconut milk, and pandan leaves, either green or brown). Kaya toast is usually paired with soft-boiled eggs and coffee to enhance its flavours. Green kaya is made with pandan leaves, and brown kaya is an additional caramelized sugar to the mix! In Singapore, you’ll find brown kaya to be more common; however - they are equally sweet and delicious!

Tong Ah Eating House

TODO

Located around Keong Saik Road since 1939, we serve the traditional Singaporean breakfast old-school style, with menus catering to both the breakfast and lunch crowd. Widely known for our special toast and coffee sets, we use unique methods and recipes to serve to our customers the best from our 81 years of experience. Our widely raved about kaya toast is made from our special homemade kaya recipe, combined with bread slices, toasted and sharpened up to 2-3 times per slice, to ensure the perfect combination of textures and flavours in this dish. Usually accompanied with our very own brand of coffee that is concocted using a special mix of no less than 3 coffee beans blended together. We source our own coffee beans and tea leaves so as to undergo quality checks to ensure the consistency of each cup that is served to our customers. Our shop has been a regular favourite for several food journalists, with unique menus and recipes cultivated over decades of businesses and experiences. Hopefully, you, too, can come down to Keong Saik Road to taste the intricacies of what we offer!

Coffee Hut

TODO

Our shop has been proudly open for 16 years and running since 2004. Located in Jalan Berseh Food Centre, I opened Coffee Hut under the guidance of a friend after my retrenchment as a former salesman. When I first started, I wanted to absorb as much as I could: Already having some basic knowledge of coffee mixing from my father’s provision shop business, I sought out coffee stalls, manufacturers, and at one point a Chinese coffee specialist to learn coffee brewing techniques from, over time refining and reforming my coffee-making techniques and recipes into what it is today. Here, we take immense pride in our work and the satisfaction of customers, setting high standards for our products, making and selling batches of bread on a same-day basis and conducting daily quality checks of our ingredients. We also utilise our own unique kaya recipe, some of which is for sale, contributing to the high quality and taste of our breakfast sets. We're a friendly bunch, so come on down to our stall for a taste of happiness and some company!
